I haven’t been able to think of anything more magical than this Caledon engagement photo session, complete with canoe paddles around a private lake.
When Christina (a longtime friend of mine) asked if I would take her and Josh’s engagement photos on their farm, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. When I pulled up at their property, took the winding road up to their house, and saw their little slice of heaven, I knew this would be one magical session. The sun was setting, the leaves had already changed colour, and it felt like they were in their own little world.
Christina and Josh got engaged during a canoe trip in the late summer. I shouldn’t have been surprised when they said “we were thinking of pulling our canoe into the pond in front of our house and taking some photos in it.” Friends – this made for the most intimate photos. They were so relaxed and totally in their element doing something that meant so much to them. Plus, it was a beautiful nod to the best day of their lives so far. What could be better than that?
Being able to commemorate your proposal in your engagement shoot is incredibly sentimental. It’s also such a great way to ensure you’re totally at ease during your session. I want my couples to have fun and do something that brings out their happiest, most relaxed selves.
Thanks so much, C + J, I loved exploring with you two.
