You’ve got the location, a full RSVP list, and a mouth-watering menu – the final step is to hire a photographer for your event.
There’s so much anticipation leading up to an event, and when the day finally comes, it flies by so quickly. You’ll want to enjoy the fruits of your labour, but you’ll also be entertaining your guests. You can’t be in two places at once, but you’ll want to witness every moment.
Here are three ways a photographer can help you enjoy and experience all the big and little moments of your event.
They’ll show off all your hard work
Photographers are all about the details. You likely put a lot of thought and effort into the little things – the desserts, the Instagram wall, the place settings. You want those things to elevate the experience of your guests. And while your guests are enjoying the hard work you put into your event, you likely won’t have the time to do so.
When I was working in event planning at a previous job, I knew how much time went into the details. Now when I shoot an event, I make sure to capture the decor, the appetizers, and the hands popping champagne. It’s nice to look back and see how your hard work paid off.
Try as you might, you can’t be in every conversation, toast, or hug that occurs during your event. Mingling doesn’t always leave a lot of room for sitting back and enjoying the easy flowing interactions that are happening around you.
Your event photographer can make you feel like you’ve experienced all these things – even if you weren’t present for them in real-time. You might not have seen this sweet moment with your niece unfold, but your photographer did; and he or she will be so happy to share it with you.
There are some moments you’ll just want to hold on to forever (like your little boy surprising you at your bridal shower). When you hire a photographer for your event, they’ll capture all the beautiful emotions and surprises as they happen. And even better, they’ll show you how those moments happened from another perspective.
These photos were taken just before Noah rounded the corner to see his mom. He was already looking out for her. This was a moment Jess wouldn’t have seen otherwise, but now she can experience the seconds leading up to her little boy arriving at her party.
